Who we Are

Across many Ugandan communities, mothers struggle to access quality healthcare, young people face limited opportunities for employment, and menstrual hygiene remains a barrier to education and dignity for many girls. These challenges keep families in cycles of poverty, inequality, and poor health, limiting their potential to thrive.

The Olaboro Ejuku Foundation (OEF) was founded to change that.
We are a non-profit organization committed to empowering lives and building resilient communities through maternal and child health promotion, youth empowerment, and menstrual hygiene management.

Established in 2021 by Mr. Emmy Ejuku, a visionary leader with 28 years of public service experience, OEF draws on deep knowledge of community systems and governance to create practical, lasting change. Our work is rooted in integrity, inclusion, and sustainability, ensuring that every initiative leaves communities stronger and self-reliant.

Major Challenges

Limited Access to Quality Health and Hygiene Services

Many mothers and children in rural Uganda lack access to proper healthcare, nutrition, and menstrual hygiene resources, leading to preventable illnesses, unsafe childbirth, and school absenteeism among girls.

Youth Unemployment and Economic Vulnerability

A large number of young people, especially women, face unemployment and lack practical skills or startup support, limiting their ability to earn income, contribute to their communities, and break the cycle of poverty.

Our Approach

At the Olaboro Ejuku Foundation (OEF), we believe lasting change begins within communities. Our community-driven and results-oriented approach ensures that people are active participants in their own development.

We engage local leaders, youth, women’s groups, and health workers in participatory planning, allowing them to shape solutions that address their real needs. Through capacity building, we train Village Health Teams, youth groups, and community volunteers to sustain impact long after projects end.

OEF works through strong partnerships with government institutions, NGOs, UN agencies, and the private sector to combine expertise and resources for broader impact. We also promote innovation and sustainability, from producing reusable sanitary pads to supporting youth-led enterprises.

Every program is guided by transparency and accountability, backed by rigorous monitoring and evaluation. Through this approach, OEF empowers communities to become self-reliant, resilient, and capable of sustaining their own progress.
